New Year’s Resolution, bitch please!

In My life on December 31, 2011 at 11:54 am

I’m glad a year is going to end, simply because I only have a year left in service and that means freedom. And by freedom, I meant not doing tasks I don’t like.

So I’ve heard people talked about New Year’s Resolution; Losing weight, buy a particular item.

I’ve stop making resolutions when I was in primary school. My teacher asked the whole class what their resolution was and when it was my turn I said,

” Umm, my New Year’s Resolution . . . is to cut down on my sugar intake”

Well look at me now, I’ve never stop consuming candies and if I made a resolution to be more spontaneous, that’s contradicting. So I might as well go with the flow —  let the winds of 2012 take me to wherever.

UNTIL NEXT TIME AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

300th Post!!

In My life on December 25, 2011 at 10:15 pm

Let me shower myself with candies and streamers and pop me some party poppers because it’s my (wait for it) 300th Post.

(How about the strawberry lollipop, huh?)

What a great way to write my 300th post; It’s Christmas, my cousin’s wedding and it’s closing to the new year.

It was a day when you can never put your smile away. My family was glittering in gold, in spirit and in intricate designs. Don’t we all love the neutrals?

I can’t deny waking up early on a Sunday morning was a S***hole but the day’s events made it obvious that I cannot waste any moment of the 25th December by sleeping. Surely a day like this deserves great food. I think I left a trail of drool walking towards the table with the array of food right in front of me.

And the bride is so beautiful. So beautiful, fields of roses would not come close to her beauty. Maybe complement her, if not stand out.

Well, right now while most of you are out, I’m here writing away. So Happy Holidays to all of you.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!

‘Tis the season to get wed and wet

In My life on December 24, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Love is inevitably in the air. This month we’ve attended 3 wedding ceremonies and there’s nothing better than spectating a couple tying the knot.

So the one I’m heading to is one of our family members. It’s a themed wedding and don’t we all love themes wedding? It just makes the whole event more exciting.

I was about to write a wedding post but I’ve done one too many times; anti-love but pro-wedding. Contradicting but intriguing.

And if I should die before I wed, I’d hate myself for closing the doors on ‘you’.

Sorry, I digressed.

(3 hours later)

The food’s great, me and my siblings were waiters and waitresses. Or you can call us the cleaning workers. Well it was worth the help. And the rain made it all perfect. I’m sorry, I love the rain — Sue me.

Though we had another event to attend, I was glad to be there. Despite whatever that has happened (seriously) I really miss my relatives, most of them.

On a good day _ Joanna Newsom

In Music reviews on December 23, 2011 at 9:37 pm

Hey hey hey, the end is near
On a good day you can see the end from here
But I won't turn back, now, though the way is clear
I will stay for the remainder

I saw a life, and I called it mine
I saw it, drawn so sweet and fine
And I had begun to fill in all the lines
Right down to what we'd name her

Our nature does not change by will
In the winter, 'round the ruined mill
The creek is lying, flat and still
It is water though it's frozen

So across the years and miles, and through
On a good day, you can feel my love for you
Will you leave me be, so that we can stay true
To the path that you have chosen

Joanna Newsom

Simply beautiful. If your ears are itching for a calming sound and not a person voicing out acid into your ears, then this is your go-to song. Great tune and also a great poem for the 2012.

Have a good day! (Weekend) Until next time!

The 20-minute customer service

In My life on December 23, 2011 at 9:12 pm

I was at Cold Storage to buy some goodies for Christmas/New Year gift exchange and when I was queuing up, the lady in front of me had 2 baskets full of Christmas related items like wine, pie crusts, turkey, wine, junk food and some more wine.

So the cashier, I assumed was really new because she was really slow, maybe intimidated by the $150+ worth of items or something she didn’t want to get anything wrong. Maybe.

So here’s the thing, the cashier scanned 5 similar pie crusts really slowly, one at a time. It was really frustrating. The lady behind me, with child, said:

Lady: Haiz . . . I thought she can scan once and multiply by 5 on the machine?

Me: (laughed) I know right.

And then she had trouble with the card. So after 20 minutes of waiting, it was my turn. Luckily she took less than a minute to pay my stuff.

Well, what can I do. It is the festive season so maybe they hired a lot of new people to do the job.
