Choked on roots

In My life on May 30, 2012 at 8:36 pm

I’ve just written another short story for a baby birch tree. This time is different. There’s less lust and dopey moves. Still, it’s a half confessional story. I’ll pass the original copy to it and come up with a better cover page with my useless computer in my office. (All I had was PowerPoint, paint, Writer and other software similar to that)

Unfortunately, I am feeling slightly pessimistic about this. In fact, I always do.

There are many ways in which one expresses their feelings and emotions and you all know it by now that my way of expressing is through writing and cheesy literary techniques. Writing them down is miles better than stuttering in front of that particular person.

Ideas come to me better when I write them down instead of verbal communication. Either way, it will bite me back in my butt.

Gold Rush: Treasures of Ukraine

In Raves and rants on May 28, 2012 at 8:12 pm

Are you drooling now? Because I am and I do want to see this exhibition.

Tuesday 29 May 2012 — Friday 26 August 2012

10am — 6pm daily.

Fee:

Adult $11
Senior (Tourists 60 years and above) $6
NSF (with valid 11B pass) $6 [I know right!]

Free
Child(6 years and under)

If you’re into history and all things gold and ancient, this is the exhibition for you. Uncovered from the regions north of Black Sea, The National Museum of Singapore proudly presents the historical treasures with its embedded history of Ukraine in it.

I wouldn’t need to write much because all is mentioned in their website:

http://www.nationalmuseum.sg/ExhibitionDetail.aspx?id=68&cat=2

You know you want to find out what’s beneath the gold that has made it’s symbolism so much to explore and how goldsmithing has developed along time till the blossoming of goldsmith shops in the 20th Century Singapore.

I’ll be back with reviews, what I’ve learnt about the gold treasures and of course pictures!

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!

Cries of a stable boy

I wish I could just hide under a paper bag and walk down the street. It’s better than having people look at me. You’ve probably read how I’m at my most insecure state in my life right now. Don’t worry, it will pass in a couple of days but as for now I need to write this post.

Now if you’re guessing that secret of mine that I think you’ve uncovered a long time ago, well you’re wrong but good try though.

I don’t even think I have the courage of sharing it here. I’m too embarrassed to do so. It could be such an minute issue to some but this is one problem I cannot handle.

This time, I’ve got no ways of going around the problem and avoid it. It’s such a stupid thing to worry about come to think of it. And worst still, I’ve got other problems to worry about. My weak mind can only handle so much. My body and soul are not in sync and I’m falling into a spiral that fails to spring me back up.

Please pour some thick opaque liquid on me because if I can’t be unseen, let me be concealed.

How am I going to leave my house tomorrow?

Minimalism: Less is more

In Fashion and style on May 26, 2012 at 9:45 pm

When you’re in such a country where it’s summer all year round and the mercury is ever rising, there’s no reason to not dress up and look like you’ve put no thought into your ensemble other than the fact that it’s hot.

And while shorts are getting shorter and sleeves have seized to exist ( well, not really ), a minimalist look is the best way to account for changes in temperature. To couple with that minimalist look, strap on a George Jensen watch to complement that simplicity.

Just take a look some timeless pieces from George Jensen. May I add that the Vivianna design is one of my favourite.; Sleek, minimal, clean, timeless, unique and definitely a stand out piece.

And if it’s time to spice things up, it’s easy to dress up with a contrasting printed scarf or a fedora for a personalized look.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!

I thought I could be a …

In My life on May 26, 2012 at 8:16 pm

When I was in Primary School, the only thing that kept me excited about Physical Education was the gymnastic lessons. Those were the days when I truly shined. I was great at it; the handstand, some contorted position, beam exercises and all.

Of course they were basic ones, I was so young. Did I mention I aced it? I actually thought that my future could be in gymnastics. They had so much strength and grace. It was a form of art I truly appreciate; the same goes with all types of art.

Well, as I grew, my joints hardened (I can’t even touch my toes) and I became a walking stick. And boy, that’s fine with me!
