To avoid what’s bad for you. To resist someone who might just hurt you. To remove a memory but is ingrained so deeply into your thoughts. The ‘smoke’ and the ‘snakes’ from whence it came, shall seem like a sudden sloping path.

I love the subtle tune. Very skeletal which gives a much greater emphasis on the meaning of the song. Perhaps it’s raw form with huddled voices in the back mirrors the loneliness Veirs felt while trying to forget someone.

Amazing.

Oh, hey guys!. Sorry about my interior monologue. I’m still learning better words to use for my literary execution. I’m on off tomorrow. (Yay, me) I can already predict what’s going to happen tomorrow

1) Wake up

2) Eat breakfast (Yes, only on holidays and weekends do I feel the need of eating breakfast)

3) To the market to buy groceries.

4) Laptop time till darkness falls oh so quickly.

That was what happened on Monday, during my off day and it’s not going to be any different tomorrow.

So today I was glad to be back and seeing all the faces whom I haven’t seen for a week. The sight of the significant other is also a delight and there’s just no way my bad mood can come after that. (Hola to the significant other!)

I sat behind the computer behind the room and painted most of the time. Don’t get me wrong, I completed all of my tasks for today so that would give me a lot of Fizzy Time with my sketch book and my Joanna Newsom.

I’m sitting by the water. I am skipping little stones across the surface of the water. Down they go and vanished from my sight. It’s nearing February and the least I can think of is you. (Sorry, I just can’t get this person out of my head)

How’s everyone? I never had a problem of writing within a dateline, but this specific one I am currently doing is going to be one. It’s not that I didn’t want to write. I just have no mood for it today. I’m really hoping I’m able to finish it tomorrow.

Wow, I just realized I’m super distracted. If I could just ask the fire to move away, I wouldn’t be distracted by it’s flickering light. Whenever I see it, I feel the warmth but I can only imagine it. It’s something so intangible but it’s so close. I just have to reach for it.

I just want to sit by the river, everything is just drenched and sodden. So cold, I’m able to feel nothing. I just want to freeze my heart; devoid of emotions that could hurt me. Yet, I do not want to sacrifice all the good feelings.

So here’s the so called painting I did over the week. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I spent so long on it, it’s just that I will find any cranny of spare time I have just to paint.

Like how any artist would paint their emotions, mine is fully a free association one. It usually starts out from a mistake. Well, this is for your interpretation.

I’d like to call this piece, “The Ambiguous contradiction”.

To be stripped of your identity even when you try not to stand out.

To try not to fumble in the presence of the gentle figure. The masculine swan cocked her head up towards the flamboyant vulture, both thinking of the same thing, feeling the same ink that flows through their veins.

I just hope you feel something out of this painting, or lack thereof.

Hey there. Today’s post will not be a specific one. I just feel like typing. The first day of work after Chinese New Year was actually not that bad. Finally met my friends after the holidays. I didn’t have much work to do. Sketched a bit. I’ll take a photo of it and post it here. It’s beauty warps around the dirt of depression. So just be ready. (Nah, it’s not that bad)

Speaking of beauty and depression, my heart still yearns for something. You, please lead me to the oasis, I sure am thirsty. And please lead me to your life, stretched out in a hoop, for I long to see you everyday.

Sorry, I digressed.

Oh I just realized something about my blog traffic. Every week, my dashboard will show the top posts read. Without fail, my post, “Poor, poor, Medusa” will appear in the top 5. In the aforementioned post, I gave my opinion of Medusa. I’m surprised it’s still being read.

My mind was pretty much made up to visit the Singapore Art Museum. Initially we all had negative views on the monotonous atmosphere it would have but were we wrong!

There were art pieces that inspire, made you think, feel and forces you to look beneath the brush strokes or portraits. The one that caught our attention was this work.

Many more art works gave me goosebumps and there were so much literature and allegory in each of them. I still want to go back there for a second time. Well, after all that inspiration me and my family were all itching to release the creative juices from ourselves and participated in 3 art activities; Calligraphy painting, masks making and decorating of red packets.

Initially, I thought I would ace this activity. I’ve painted in my scrapbook in my office more than I do my work (Oops) So, once I picked up the thick, wet brush I didn’t realize the one-ply liked paper. “SPLOTCH!”, my first brush stroke was a disaster. The rest was history. It was as if I didn’t have any thread of art artery in me.

My mum was an expert in art (Another whom I gain my inspiration from). She grew with jubilation as every brushstroke would produce nice outcome. Well, as for me, the more I tried to correct my first error, the more it became catastrophic.

The next 2, I swore I’d produce better results. The mask making didn’t go as planned. I didn’t realize there was a dragon theme for the mask making. In the end I did a fox mask. A little twiggy-inspired eyelash to add a little volume to the mask. The decoration of red packets was fine. I’m very proud of the flower I drew . . . with one of my worst enemies; Crayons.

After all that, the visit to the National Museum and Peranakan Museum was fine. There were interesting artifacts with intricate designs but I was under the weather and all I could think of was not letting my nose run. Still, after pass the cultural alley, it was a unanimous vote that we all favored the Arts Museum more than the rest .

The rest was pretty much normal; Walking around looking for a nice background to take a photo. Thanks to my sister, pictures were incredibly shot.

Before I end this post. I highly recommend visiting the Singapore Art Museum. If you like art, literature or just a split moment of empathy with the artist, that is the place to go.

I thought Chinese New Year was yesterday. I was sending text messages to tens of people including my officers. Oh, how embarrassing. And my excuse? I have none.

Here we go! Well I have only one. What? This was the most pivotal time of my life.

1) Lion Dance

When I was 8, (Sorry, I thought I was 18 again for a moment) When I was 10, I was afraid of these lions and the dragons. Every CNY, I would be terrified of the loud noises and how it might eat me up.

As much as I respect the history behind these creatures of scaring away evil spirits and bring forth good luck, I was gnawing on my sleeve whenever the heads curved their way to my direction. The same theory goes to any mascots really.Well, once I realized that the person behind the mask exist, my life after that (10 years later) was bearable.

Well, today my family ate and shop as if throwing bones into the streets was the only thing that could get us back on our feet. I’m telling you, AB Mohamed Restaurant offers food that I would actually eat and crave for more. I mean … extreme Yum-ness.

The place was packed with people. So after we bought all our stuff I thought of something daring; (I don’t do daring, so anything that is must a smidgen more than my introverted self is classified “DARING”) Wouldn’t it be fun if I posed and took a shot in the middle of a crowd?

Holy shitballs, I walked up to the crowd and first pretended to be texting. I was freaking out. Knowing the slightest breeze could claw arteries out, these people around me isn’t going to be easy for me. I had my “I’m-minding-my-own-business” look.

Sure enough, since it’s Chinese New Year, we had some Chinese food. You can tell by the amount of plates on the table how much food we ate. It was more of taste testing than bloating ourselves up. Still, very scrumptious.

Well, enjoy your holidays and Happy Chinese New Year to those who are celebrating it. I keep wishing the wrong people a Happy New Year and I feel like an insensitive horse. So countless apologies for that my friends.

I wouldn’t want to justify my absence in the literary world, but over the past 2 weeks I felt empty. No emotion whatsoever, no thoughts, no ideas. Surely you wouldn’t want to read something I just brewed for show, would you?

So I came back from camp after a half day Chinese New Year Celebration and it rained really heavily. Nothing beats the feeling of sleeping on a rainy afternoon. Pillows’ so cold, you’d just want to tuck yourself under the sheets.

I slept till the late evening, did all the necessary stuff and me and mum decided to just walk around Northpoint. I enjoy our talks. But that wasn’t the only reason I wanted to head to Northpoint.

I knew the next issue of Homme Designare and Style:MEN magazine are out now, so I had to buy them. Also, I need to get a new pair of headphones. The old ones keep slipping out of my ear and I can’t the the bass. (Really important!)
