The Sex Issue

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been reading this book, “Delta of Venus” by Anais Nin. It’s pretty juicy. I might want to add that this post is for teens, pre-teens and adults. Children are seriously prohibited but what are the chances of them reading my blog?
‘Delta of Venus’ is an erotic novel filled with sexual encounters in the 1940s. It is a Penguin Book, so I’m reading this out of research. Besides, it’s literature so you can’t judge me for reading pure art.
Here’s an excerpt from the book:
“Her sex was like a giant hothouse flower, larger than any the Baron had seen, and the hair around it abundant and curled, glossy black. It was these lips that she rouged as if they were a mouth, very elaborately so that they became like blood-red camellias, opened by force, showing the closed interior bud, a paler, fine-skinned core of the flower.”
I love how Nais created her own language, her language of senses. It gets the brain gears working and not for the wrong reasons. (Those who have read the book, you get my drift)
The main theme, obviously revolves around sex, lust and undeniable love. It goes into sub-themes like possession, homosexuality, insecurity and the different perspective of sex.
I do recommend this book for those who appreciate the language of sex. But those who aren’t, you might just think I’m a freak reading this.
