Out from the garden

Even since the 18th Century, floral prints have been embroidered onto men’s robes and coats. And as grandeur as these prints can be found in palaces from teacups to fans, these humble species are seen in everyday wear from bow ties to shoes.

We see floral prints proudly rooted into the runways from Prada to Givenchy Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Now we’re definitely throwing away the overly dramatic floral prints of Hawaiian shorts. Try floral prints that are in smaller scales so that it looks more of an art textile that looking like you have the whole garden of Eden on your back.

With nature by your side, you’d want to achieve an easy-going mood from your mix and match. Besides, the world’s a mess. Why not liven it up with bright colours and prints?

Also try looking for blue hues or any island colour palette to give your ensemble an extra punch.
